On March 21st, the Durrrr Challenge resumed between Tom Dwan and Patrik Antonius on Full Tilt Poker. The pace is finally picking up, as the two dueled it out on four tables for about an hour and a half for 425 hands of $200/$400 Omaha. The big winner during the session was Antonius, who has taken the lead for the first time since late February. Let’s take a look at some of the hands played during that session.

Hand Analysis
To start this hand, we see Durrrr hold a suited Ace and pocket fives, while Antonius holds a different suited Ace and a lot of low connecting cards. Pre-flop, Durrrr is actually holding a bit of an advantage and leads out with his obligatory button raise, which is called. The flop gives Durrrr middle set, while Antonius has a bevy of straight outs. Antonius is drawing to the straight, while Durrrr is chasing a boat if the board pairs. We see Antonius with a monster check-raise, which is called, and with the Queen of diamonds coming on the turn, Durrrr does everything he can to prevent Antonius from chasing what could be a number of straights (or two flushes) by shoving over the top. We know that Durrrrr got it in here as a 65% to 35% favorite, but the Seven of hearts spikes the river, giving a straight to Antonius and a monster $80,399.50 pot.

Hand Analysis
This hand is a bit of a head-scratcher at the river. We see Durrrr make his button raise with a single-suited hand and three Broadway cards, while Antonius has single-suited semi-connected rags. At the flop, the hand is a coinflip, as Antonius has multiple straight outs and durrrr only holds top pair. Antonius donk bets into durrrrr, who calls. Then, the two comes, making the straight for Antonius, but giving durrrr two pair. Antonius is a 90% to 10% favorite and certainly knows at this point he’s dominating the hand. He pots it again at the turn and durrrr comes along. The Jack of clubs spikes the river, keeping Antonius at the straight, but giving durrrrr the Jacks over Dueces boat. Antonius leads out and bets pot again, but durrrrr just calls and shows his full house. The only hand combinations that had Dwan beat were J-3-x-x and J-5-x-x, which are beyond remote, so why Dwan didn’t raise the river is interesting to guess. We can only imagine that Durrrr knew that no river raise once the board paired was going to be called, so he decided to flat the bet and show off his hand (and luck).
