Hand Analysis
Pre-flop with Durrrr on the button, we see that he held a very strong hand for heads-up Pot Limit Omaha in 9-T-A-A (unfortunately a rainbow) and, predictably, we saw a raise from Dwan. Antonius had a great drawing hand in 9-6-8-5 single-suited to hearts, so he fought back and 3bet, which was called by Durrrr. At this pre-flop stage, Durrrr was definitely getting his money in good as a solid 60%-40% favorite. The flop came 4-8-7 with two diamonds, giving Dwan pocket Aces for an overpair plus an open-ended straight draw to a six or Jack. Antonius, on the other hand, flopped a straight. With the current nuts, we saw Antonius check-raise to $21,600, which was called by Dwan, who went from pre-flop favorite to being a 66%-30% dog (3% chance of a chop). The Queen on the turn didn’t change the status quo since Dwan was still chasing a straight with an overpair and Antonius still held the nut straight. Antonius lead out and got Durrrr all-in. Dwan called with Antonius enjoying a fantastic lead in the form of a 83%-17% advantage. The four of hearts was another brick and Antonius took down more money in one pot than most small countries’ Q1 2009 GDP, $125,692. This hand had to rate as a bit of a semi-cooler for Dwan, but a case could be made that he overplayed his overpair +OESD in this hand.

Hand Analysis
This time, we see Antonius on the button and our normal raise from that position, which is 3bet by Durrrr and flatted by Antonius. The flop brought a 4-A-K rainbow and we know now that Antonius held 5-5-3-A double-suited for top pair plus a gutshot to a two for a straight. At the flop, it was probably certain that Antonius didn’t have the best hand, but he flatted behind Durrrr’s lead out bet and got to see a seven of clubs, which improved his hand’s potential to the nut flush draw. Now things got interesting for Antonius, who had top pair plus a gutshot to any two (four outs) and the nut flush draw (eight more outs) and once again flatted behind Durrrr’s bet. Antonius hits his gin card with the eight of clubs, giving him the nut flush, and Dwan dove right in with yet another bet, which was raised to get Durrrr’s last $444 in only to run into Antonius’s winning hand of a flush, Ace high.
