After their brief and pointless four-hand melee the other night, durrrr and Patrik Antonius played a more substantial session early this morning, logging 364 hands over the course of an hour. In what’s becoming a steadily less interesting contest – no doubt in part due to the sparse action – Dwan has built an impressive lead over Patrik, almost to the point where he can simply play defensive poker and cruise to victory. Dwan’s success continued in this most recent session as he managed to take $342K off of Antonius, pushing his lead to $1.75 million.
It doesn’t seem like a large sum given the sizes of the pots they play, but in reality, $1.75 is a lot of money, and Antonius has to feel like he’s in a massive hole. Remember, if the contest were to end today, he’d owe Tom an additional $500K. Ouch.
