Another session came and went for the Durrrr Challenge and now we’re almost halfway through with the score nearly tied. The quick 90 minute session saw Tom “durrrr” Dwan reassess his skills against Patrik Antonius and brought us several interesting hands to break down.

Analysis
This hand definitely had the makings of a shove-fest early on. Antonius was dealt A-A-7-5 single-suited for a pre-flop monster and, at the same time, Dwan was dealt K-K-J-9 single-suited. Pocket aces versus pocket kings was huge and Dwan’s two diamonds were drawing badly against the ace-high with two diamonds that Antonius held. There was no slowplaying this hand, which was expected considering these two high-caliber players. With the money shoved in, Antonius held a huge 68% to 32% advantage and won a $91,600 pot. Overall, this was a very standard hand for both players.

Analysis
Antonius has the pleasure of having been dealt pocket kings with 9-K-K-10 single-suited to diamonds. Dwan had 6-8-8-3 single-suited to clubs and flatted Antonius’s 3bet. The flop didn’t hit either player hard, as Durrrr maintained his pocket eights with a double gutshot draw to a deuce or seven for a straight. Antonius hit his 10, but that didn’t matter because his pocket kings played. The surprise here were the fireworks, but Durrrr had to figure that any two, seven, or eight were clean outs, giving him a total of 10 if he were behind. He made a gutsy all-in bet and was looked up by Antonius, who held a razor thin 52% to 48% advantage. The river gave Dwan the winning set by spiking the eight of hearts and pushed a $107,987 pot his way.
