Patrik Antonius Busts Andrew Robl on High Stakes Poker

Our favorite Durrrr Challenge participants have been keeping busy. On Sunday night, Patrik Antonius was able to watch himself bankrupt Victory Poker pro Andrew “good2cu” Robl in an episode of GSN’s “High Stakes Poker.” Now in its sixth season, “High Stakes Poker” airs every Sunday night at 8:00pm ET on GSN. In the hand, 2009 World Series of Poker (WSOP) Main Event November Nine member and Full Tilt Poker pro Phil Ivey raised to $7,000 with a blockbuster K-10 of diamonds. Robl flat called with A-Q and Antonius peeked down at pocket aces. Antonius raised it to $33,400 and Ivey folded. The action came back around to Robl, who promptly shoved for $144,300. Antonius called faster than you can say “Durrrr Challenge” and the duo agreed to see two boards. The first ran out 3-3-2-3-7, giving one-half of the massive $300,000 pot to Antonius. The second board came down 10-5-A-2-Q,… Read More »

Two Hands from Nine Minutes

The Durrrr Challenge isn’t close to concluding, but the swing that Tom “durrrr” Dwan is enjoying has to be making Patrik Antonius sick to his stomach. Dwan is up over $1.9 million, with the prospect of Antonius having to pay out more if he loses the 50,000-hand challenge. There was a short nine-minute session played on March 12th, so let’s take a look at two pivotal hands from it. Priced In and Behind

In the recent nine-minute running of the Durrrr Challenge, a $189,000 pot was built. On a flop of Q-J-K with two clubs, Patrik Antonius led out for $1,200 and Tom “durrrr” Dwan popped it to $3,600. Antonius made the call and the seven of spades hit on the turn. Then, fireworks went off, as Dwan bet $12,200, Antonius raised to $53,400, Dwan came over the top all-in for $88,000, and Antonius called. The river was a red jack and Dwan’s 10s-Ah-8d-Qh for Broadway was enough to scoop the pot. Antonius showed Qs-9c-6c-2s for queens-up and a busted flush draw. DurrrrChallenge.com sat down with PokerXFactor instructor Chris “Fox” Wallace to get some insight into this hand. DurrrrChallenge.com: What’s going through Antonius’ mind in this hand? He just has a gutshot straight draw, a flush draw, and second pair. Chris Wallace: Antonius can beat a draw. If he’s up against a made… Read More »

Nine Minute Session

Antonius and durrrr had an amazing nine minute session that had big hands, and a large sum of money moving from Patrik’s bankroll into durrrr’s balance. Despite the short session, they played a total of sixty one hands in the five hundred and forty seconds they dedicated to the challenge on Friday night. Patrik must have been upset after seeing that things did not favor him and he quickly lost $230,710 to increase durrrr’s lead in the challenge to almost $2 million. Hand Analysis from March 8th Session

There have been two micro sessions played between Patrik Antonius and Tom “durrrr” Dwan in the past couple of days. We’re hoping this is a precursor to a long session, but for now, we will take a look at two of the more significant pots played during the 364-hand session on Monday. Yet again, we saw Dwan increase his lead. Dwan Adds to Lead

After their brief and pointless four-hand melee the other night, durrrr and Patrik Antonius played a more substantial session early this morning, logging 364 hands over the course of an hour. In what’s becoming a steadily less interesting contest – no doubt in part due to the sparse action – Dwan has built an impressive lead over Patrik, almost to the point where he can simply play defensive poker and cruise to victory. Dwan’s success continued in this most recent session as he managed to take $342K off of Antonius, pushing his lead to $1.75 million. It doesn’t seem like a large sum given the sizes of the pots they play, but in reality, $1.75 is a lot of money, and Antonius has to feel like he’s in a massive hole. Remember, if the contest were to end today, he’d owe Tom an additional $500K. Ouch. Here are a few… Read More »

Another Micro Session

The durrrr challenge has definitely taken a weird turn and it looks like the interest from both players has been completely lost. Their latest session involved four hands and a $1k profit for Antonius. durrrr’s lead in the challenge is now $1,413,551 and the biggest hand of the session had a $2,399.50 pot at stake. Patrik Antonius has been struggling at the virtual felts since the start of the year and that could be affecting his motivation to continue with the durrrr challenge, on the other hand durrrr struggled at the start of the year but has managed to gain momentum and is currently up more than $1.5 million. Biggest hand of the session Full Tilt Poker $200/$400 Pot Limit Omaha Hi – 2 players durrrr (BTN/SB): $40200.00 Patrik Antonius (BB): $79800.00 Pre Flop: ($600.00) durrrr raises to $1200, Patrik Antonius calls $800 Flop: ($2400.00) Qh 8d 9c (2 players)… Read More »
