Tom Dwan Trumps Sammy George in London for $750,000

In the finale of the live version of the Tom “durrrr” Dwan Million Dollar Challenge, the young American trumped high-stakes cash game specialist Sammy “Any Two” George to the tune of $750,000. The two played No Limit Texas Hold’em with a special $10,000 bonus awarded to any player who could take down a pot with 7-2, the worst starting hand in the game. In the hand of the match, Dwan sought to take advantage of the bonus by pushing for $400,000 with 7-2 on a board of J-A-6-3-3 with three hearts. George tanked for a lengthy five-and-a-half minutes before folding A-6 for two pair. Live Durrrr Challenge Launches in London

This week, the live version of the Tom “durrrr” Dwan Million Dollar Challenge is taking place in London at the Les Ambassadeurs Club in Mayfair. The youngster and public nominee for the 2009 class of the Poker Hall of Fame will battle three competitors in a high-stakes, made-for-television event: Ilari “Ziigmund” Sahamies, Sammy “Any Two” George, and Marcelo “luckexpress” Marigliano. The contest will air on Sky Sports throughout the United Kingdom sometime next year. Sahamies is the only contestant of the three brave enough to tangle with Dwan in Pot Limit Omaha, as Marigliano and George will face the newest Full Tilt Poker pro in No Limit Hold’em. Each match will see the contestants post a $500,000 buy-in and neither will be able to walk away from the table until 500 hands have elapsed or someone is broke. Full Tilt Signs Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan

After months of speculation, Full Tilt Poker has finally made it official: Tom ‘durrrr’ Dwan is Team Full Tilt Poker’s newest pro. Dwan has long since had a significant presence at the nosebleed stakes cash games, and even chose to host the Durrrr Challenge – his epic heads-up PLO battle with Patrik Antonius – on Full Tilt. Antonius was actually the last pro addition that Full Tilt Made prior to Dwan, who joins the likes of Jennifer Harman, Allen Cunningham, Howard Lederer, Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Gus Hansen, Andy Bloch, Eric Seidel, John Juanda, Phil Gordon, Mike Matusow, and Erick Lindgren.
